The Sanctuary at South Mountain in Laveen

Tucked in a hidden and beautiful rural area in Laveen Valley, Arizona, you'll find The Sanctuary at South Mountain, a compassionate non-profit animal rescue organization for horses and dogs. In addition to a riding arena, round pen, five wash racks, three sizable turn-out pens, private and safe tack rooms, a common area with a kitchen and restrooms, a lovely pond, and 24-hour on-site supervision, their horse-boarding facility is situated on 12.5 acres.

In contrast to other boarding stables, The Sanctuary at South Mountain is unique. The animals are the main focus of their refuge. They have a deep love for animals, and in 1991 they responded to God's call by buying land to start a dog rescue business. They began their rescue in 1993 with the goal of giving unloved and abused canines a second chance at life.
